Radcon 2010 LAN Gaming Update

We will be doing setup at 8pm on Thursday night.  Saturday night this weekend we will be preparing for Radcon at my place, probably wrapping cables and watching movies, only minimal gaming.

They wouldn’t let us pay registration individually as registration isn’t set up to differentiate between 25 dollar group registrations and the normal 35-40 dollar registrations.  So  If I registered you, bring 25 bucks, pay it to me ASAP Friday, before or after you get your badge. I’m the one who is responsible for putting in the 450 bucks for everyone’s registration.  Be sure when you pay me that I get your name checked off.

I think we have a current estimate of 24 people for the LAN gaming room for 2010.  We have lost some gaming rig donors and picked up a few new ones.  I will also be trying to recruit some help to run the room during hours of operation.  Sky and Beth helped us a great deal in the past but they have moved on to take on larger responsibilities of their own within the convention.

It is crunch time, we need to arrange for computers to fill the LAN Gaming room at Radcon!  Remember this is a group effort which we have fulfilled for 11 years now.  If you can bring a system or two please contact me at cybrguy at gmail.com

or just give me a call 531-3170

Games this year:   DemiGod, Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2, and maybe Battlefield Bad Company2 Beta.

I’m also going to try to get an IZ3D screen by Radcon because they are ALL sorts of cool!

PDXLAN 15

Last reminder, we will be at PDXLAN 15 this weekend. Convoy leaves Cybrguy’s @ 4pm. See you there. PRIZES!

Update from CybrGuy:

(Please be at CybrGuy’s house by 3:30 for loading)  We are not sure who will be riding with who yet.  We will have space for everyone, but we will probably decide actual riding arrangements at my house before we leave.  We have 8 people between 3 vehicles.  Matt is driving, and then Brandon, Jen, and Brian are figuring out the remaining two vehicles.

We will have plastic totes for all the non-computer baggage,  don’t forget to bring some snack food and drinks as they don’t provide soda at PDXLAN anymore.  I would recommend a cube of your favorite beverage.  Bawls will probably be on sale at the event if you wish to purchase it there.  I think it sells for $10 per 12 bottles.

Things to not forget:

  1. Surge suppressor – not a power strip
  2. 25 foot network cable – you can borrow one from me if you would like to
  3. Mouse pad- the tables are not nice to mice
  4. Headset with mic
  5. Patched games
  6. Shares pass worded or disabled
  7. Gas money for your driver(usually 20 bucks a person)
  8. Snack food
  9. Drinks/caffeine
